Egg DonationEgg Donation
Infertility is the state of the reproductive system of an animal where
it looses the natural capability of reproduction. The male and the
female reproductive system generally have different sets of problems.
Thus the approach to address the infertility problems in both the sexes
should be different. The female reproductive system is controlled by
the menstrual cycle at the end of, which the matured egg is released.
The production of the female gamete is very important for the
fertilization with the sperms released by their male counterpart.
Sometimes due to hormonal imbalance or some other external factors the
menstrual cycle becomes irregular. The production of the eggs thus
suffers due to this phenomenon. Sometimes due to low level of estrogen
and progesterone production the eggs cease to get produced. Thus due to
the recent development in the field of science one can get eggs that
have been produced in different womb. The process
The process of egg donation is picking up with the development of the
technology. The egg donation process involves plantation of an egg in a
womb, which is not being produced in that womb. There are several of
the egg donation institutes mushrooming in the market offering services
to the patient who are suffering from infertility. The primary
requirement of this process is a donor who donates eggs. The donor
generally is a volunteer agreeing to donate her matured ovum. The ovum
is then fixed in the placenta of the woman who is infertile. The
external ovum is then fertilized through the intercourse. The surgery
to place the egg in the womb is not that complicated these days and
falls in the category of minor surgery.
